Last Friday I went to my Student Health Profession's Committee (SHPA) meeting and we got to meet all the committee members. They talked to us about the application process, getting letters of rec., etc. I sat there and I almost started to cry. I'm so freaked about the whole medical school. Actually, I'm more scared about writing the personal statement and the interviews and the bibliography. And the idea of moving away scares me. And now, as the weather begins to get a little colder, a little drier and a little windier and a little more gross, I dread the thought of moving away even more. Man, it'd be nice to live elsewhere, I always say I want to move east, but it's just an idea, a dream, a dream with no real bit of reality in it. Maybe I will spend some time in New York this winter, maybe see if my cousin will let me stay with her for a while (I have no idea if that would even be possible, but it's an idea). Maybe stay a while and study MCAT's or something until school starts again. I wonder.... I wonder if I'll be able to handle medical school. Well, I know I can handle blood.
Cut to: this past weekend was crazy. And it ended in a bang...crash....shatter...and ambulance sirens. A 9 year old boy ran into my glass window (the size of a door) and broke it. He nearly missed slicing his eye and instead got a cut right by his nosebridge and took a chunk out of his ankle. (sorry, no better word to describe it other than 'chunk') My aunts were amazed that I wasn't afraid of blood. Well if you saw me the first day I volunteered at Western, you would know that I was a bit squeemish, but you just get used to it.
So know that my O Chem, physics test, physics lab write-up, and ecology lab paper are out of the way, onto the Ecology test on Monday. To think, these are the only classes I have. If I were taking more, I would have more tests and more things to worry about. Breathe.
