it's so nice to get paid for sitting here and using the computer. and blogging finally.
by the way, my road trip with the family was quite an experience.
we rented a lincoln town car and for only 20 bucks a day.
we slept in the lincoln town car.
and we showered at a 24 hour fitness.
apparently everyone was out that weekend and booked all the hotels from san luis obispo all the way up to carmel and probably even further.
my family and i left saturday morning. we stopped at santa barbara and checked out an orchid garden further along the way. we then stopped at sulvang? i forget the spelling and pronunciation. dutch town? they eat a lot of meat. i drove from 8-12, stopping endlessly along the way looking for a vacant hotel. none in sight. we then decided to park at a cafe near a gas station. parked the car and curled into a ball (my dad was sprawled out in the back, with my sister crunched in the corner, my mom in the passenger seat, and i was curled into a ball b/c that is how i sleep) my mom and i awoke around 3, both having to use the bathroom, so we drove about 100 feet over to the gas station. my mom could not take sleeping in the car anymore, decided to continue our journey along the 101. there was not a car in site. really, can you believe that? not a single one.
we made it to monterey by early morning and roamed around enjoying the fresh morning air. we then decided to hit 17 mile drive when we found out that there was a car show that day and it was closed. um, ok, what do we do now? let's head into san jose and maybe stop by the relatives in the evening and see if they have a place for us to stay. so when we originally said we would not visit any relatives on our trip up north (b/c we always go up there for relatives) we still end up visiting. anyways, once we got into san jose, we found a 24 hour fitness and we all finally got to shower. all refreshed, we went to eat at sizzlers. and following that, we went to look at model homes....funny, all the things we could have done at home, in orange county.
the following day we finally went to 17 mile drive and it was nice, but i think the best was once we exited 17 mile drive, we saw carmel beach. it was really nice. the sand was so fine and white and the water was so blue and clear.
